Disparos Black Playing Cards by Ellusionist
Disparos Black Playing Cards
Disparos Plying Cards is one our favorite deck in the Prohibition Series by Ellusionist when it was released back in 2015. Now, Disparos is back with re-modeled sugar skulls, dueling pistols and fully custom in a black/silver colorway.
Disparos takes inspiration from the vaqueros and gunslingers of the Mexican old west, the cards transport you guns-blazing, to a traditional tequila bar. It’s the kind of deck you'd expect to find laying around on a three-legged wood table, stained from the drinks of last nights card game.
Unlike the original edition, the Black Disparos cards themselves have a more menacing look that is pulled off by a darker tone and bold court cards. The jet-black tones of the mirrored back design against the white false-edge border give these cards a sinister look. The bold courts depict various Mexican inspired characters, they are a one-way design with the cards "Name" printed across the bottom.
Spot card pips have a stronger look that works well with the deck and the custom Ace of Spades has a nice skeletal design. The Jokers have now been enhanced with an intricate skeletal artwork work, which in my opinion cohesively tie the narrative of the deck together. The tuck box features intricate line work of skulls and guns design elements adorned with an eye-catching silver foil finish.
